Creating a Section Document from a Publication Document

When working with a Publication document, you cannot delete or edit the properties of a Section or its contents, but you can create a new Section document based on a Section you have selected. You can make your changes to the new document.

To create a Section document from a Section in a Publication document

  1. Open the Publication document in Word. (If you are opening the Publication for the first time, you will need to convert it to the Documaker Add-In format.)
  2. Select the Section in the Element Tree.
  3. From the Document group, click Create Documaker Document,Based On Selected Section.

The Document Properties dialog displays. The Type property is grayed out and set to Section.

  1. Complete the fields on the Document Properties dialog, and click OK.

The Section document is displayed. The document has normal editing controls available.
